Acceptable use policy
Activities and businesses not allowed on Ledgerly.
This Acceptable Use Policy describes activities that are not permitted when using Ledgerly accounts, cards, invoices, payment links, the Ledgerly API or any other part of the Services. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Our partner banks and card networks set many of these rules, and we are required to enforce them.
General principles
You may use the Services only for lawful business purposes of the business that holds the account. You are responsible for making sure that you and your authorized users comply with this policy, with our Terms of Service and with all laws that apply to your business, including laws on consumer protection, taxes, sanctions and anti-money laundering.
Prohibited activities
You may not use the Services to:
Engage in fraud, money laundering or terrorist financing
Send payments to or receive payments from persons, entities or countries subject to United States sanctions

Use the account for personal, family or household purposes
Provide false, misleading or incomplete information about your business
Allow people who are not authorized users to access the account
Create invoices for goods or services that were never provided
Hold funds for others or act as an unlicensed money transmitter
Restricted businesses
Certain types of business present high legal, regulatory or fraud risk, and we cannot support them. If your business operates in any of these areas, you may not open or use a Ledgerly account.

Adult content and services

Some other businesses, such as money services businesses, charities that send funds abroad and travel agencies, may be supported only after additional review and approval. Contact us before opening an account if you are unsure whether your business qualifies.
Cards and spend
Ledgerly cards may be used only for business expenses of the account holder. Cardholders may not use cards for cash advances where cash withdrawals are disabled, for transactions with prohibited merchants, or for purchases intended to be resold to obtain cash. You may not share card numbers with anyone other than the merchant you are paying.
API and integrations
If you use the Ledgerly API, you must keep your API keys secret, use them only for your own account and follow the rate limits and documentation we publish. You may not use the API to scrape data, to test vulnerabilities without our written permission, to build a competing service or to offer access to the Services to third parties.
Security and integrity
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or to other customers’ accounts, introduce malware, interfere with the operation of the Services or circumvent any security or usage limits. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to security@ledgerly.com under our responsible disclosure program instead of exploiting it.
Monitoring and enforcement
We monitor accounts and transactions to detect activity that may violate this policy or the law. If we believe a violation has occurred, we may request information, decline or reverse transactions, place limits on the account, freeze funds where required by law, suspend or close the account, and report activity to law enforcement or regulators. Where the law allows, we will tell you why we have taken action and how to respond.
Reporting misuse
If you believe a Ledgerly account, card or payment link is being used in violation of this policy, please email trust@ledgerly.com with as much detail as possible. We review every report and treat the identity of the person reporting as confidential.
Changes
We may update this policy when laws, partner bank requirements or our risk policies change. Account owners will hear about material changes at least 30 days ahead, unless a faster change is required.
