Cookie policy
The cookies we use and how you can control them.
This Cookie Policy explains how Ledgerly, Inc. (“Ledgerly”) uses cookies and similar technologies on ledgerly.com and in the Ledgerly web application. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the website recognize your device on later visits and remember information such as your sign-in status or language preference. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and software development kits in mobile apps. In this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies.”
First-party cookies are set by Ledgerly. Third-party cookies are set by other companies, such as analytics or advertising providers. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser, while persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
How we use cookies
We group the cookies we use into four categories.
Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in, protect your account from fraud, remember your security settings and balance traffic across our servers. Because the Services cannot work without them, they cannot be turned off in your settings.
Preference cookies remember choices you make, such as your language, time zone and dashboard layout, so you do not have to set them again.
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use our website and app, which pages are most popular and where people run into problems. We use this information in aggregate to improve the Services.
Marketing cookies measure how well our advertising works and help us show relevant Ledgerly ads on other websites. We use them only on our public website, never inside the signed-in application.
Examples of cookies we use
The specific cookies we use change as we improve the Services, but the following examples show the kinds of information they store.
A session cookie that keeps you signed in
A security cookie that recognizes a trusted device
A preference cookie that stores your language and dashboard layout
An analytics cookie that records which pages are visited, using an identifier that does not reveal your name
A consent cookie that remembers your choice on non-essential cookies
Cookies inside the Ledgerly app
When you are signed in to Ledgerly, we use only strictly necessary, preference and first-party analytics cookies. We never use advertising cookies or share your account activity with advertising networks.
Third-party providers
Some cookies on our website are placed by service providers that help us operate it, such as providers of analytics, customer support chat and advertising measurement. These providers may collect information about your use of our website over time and across other websites, and they are contractually limited in how they may use it.
Your choices
When you first visit ledgerly.com, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by selecting Cookie settings in the footer of our website. Declining non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the Services.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and some let you block third-party cookies only. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Services, including sign-in, will not work.
Browser settings let you view, delete and block cookies for each website
Industry opt-out tools let you opt out of interest-based advertising
Mobile devices let you reset your advertising identifier
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of marketing cookies and any sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, as required by applicable law.
How long cookies last
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Our persistent cookies expire after periods ranging from 24 hours for security cookies to 13 months for analytics and preference cookies. Your consent choice is stored for 12 months, after which we will ask again.
Changes to this policy
We update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies or change how we use them. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If changes are significant, we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
